Welcome! I hope you enjoy learning about the science of love and sensitivity.
I'm a research scientist at the University of California, Santa Barbara specializing in the neural basis of love, attachment, and sensory processing sensitivity (or Highly Sensitive Persons). You can find some of my articles on PsychologyToday.com.
In my free time I write, do yoga, and go for long walks. I love spending time with friends and family, and in nature. My family is originally from Bogota, Colombia and these days I spend most of my time between New York City and sunny California.
In 2015 I developed a free app "LoveSmart" that includes the sensitivity scale. Also, my new book, The Highly Sensitive Brain will be out Summer 2020.

Sensitive Soul
As a highly sensitive individual, I feel a deeper sense of empathy, awareness of my surroundings, and an affinity for beauty, nature, and the arts. I find it relatively easy to tune in to others and listen to what is really being said.
Relationship Rookie
Relationships naturally fascinate me because they are so unique. I have been fortunate enough to study with great people and contribute to our collective understanding of what helps relationships thrive.
Health Hero
I practice yoga almost every day. It is what keeps me happy, healthy, and uplifted. I love sharing my yoga practice with others even if it's showing them a simple 2-minute exercise that helps to "reset" quickly.
