Langkawi Mangrove Kayaking Tour

Spend a day in Langkawi's pristine mangrove forest and jungle, starting at Kubang Badak Jetty, tucked away near a secluded fishing village. The tour starts with a leisurely kayak ride beneath a canopy of mangrove trees, with a nature guide to point out local wildlife including majestic sea eagles, kingfishers, feeder crabs, and mud skippers. You may even see a wild otter on the way to the mouth of the Andaman Sea, where Malaysia meets Thailand.

All that paddling works up an appetite so hop in a mini-bus for an authentic Malay lunch at a local home. Get to know the rest of your tour group as you gather around a table while plates piled high with spicy chicken, grilled fish, steamed rice, and vegetables are loaded on to the table. Then it's back to nature with a 10-minute walk through the jungle to a natural pool where you can jump off the rocky ledge to finish the tour with a refreshing swim.

Paddle gently along the calm water and witness local wildlife in their natural environment. Hear the mating call of kingfishers and watch white bellied sea eagles hover above their nests as your guide explains the habitats within the mangrove forest.

Recreational Athlete

Jump in a kayak and paddle against the current as the mangrove blends into the Andaman Sea. Next, feel the rush of adrenaline as you leap of a rocky cliff into a natural pool.

Fun Expert

Navigate a kayak through the mangrove forest as you witness nature in action. This is far better than the Discovery Channel! After lunch, take a short walk through the jungle to swim in a natural pool.

Nature

Jalan Teluk Yu, Kampung Kelubi, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah

Paddle a kayak through a mangrove forest to the mouth of the Andaman Sea. The nature guide makes several stops to point out wildlife including feeder crabs, mudskippers, otters, kingfishers, and white bellied sea eagles, explaining their habitats and mating practices. He also points out different species of mangroves and shares facts, like how the ancient trees only grow 0.6 centimeters per year. A small boat follows along behind the kayaks with drinking water and belongings like backpacks. The guide leads guests through short stretching exercises before setting off to avoid painful cramps.

Cool off in a natural rock pool, accessible via a 10-minute walk from the carpark through the jungle. Next to the pool is a private wooden platform to sit or store belongings while you swim.
