Bootleg Brewery

One of the Margaret River region's first craft breweries and a beloved locale to enjoy a pint in the warm sunshine. Sample a tasting paddle of Bootleg's beers or ciders, then learn how the tasty drops are made on a brewery tour. Next, make the most of the onsite restaurant and family-friendly atmosphere by enjoying a hearty lunch in the lakefront landscaped gardens.

Since Margaret River is primarily known for its wine, not beer, Bootleg claims to be an "oasis of beer in a desert of wine". Don't worry wine drinkers, you can still try a selection of local wines on the premises… then get back to the award-winning beer!

Backstory

Going against Margaret River's famous 20th century vineyard trend, beer enthusiast Tom Reynolds started Bootleg Brewery in 1994. The brewery is located on 30 hectares of land, surrounded by vineyards in the picturesque Willyabrup Valley.

Reynolds thought the brewery would be a good hobby for his retirement, but his success surprised him and encouraged other micro-breweries to open the region, each with its own specialized beers, ciders and ales. The Margaret River region now has the largest concentration of craft breweries in Australia.
