The Fat Frog

Come for lunch to enjoy a light salad, freshly caught seafood, or local-style curry. The kitchen is closed from 4pm-6pm, but guests are still welcome to sit back with a coffee and cake, or a glass of wine from the vine-canopied bar.

When dinner time rolls around, popular menu items include a range of pasta dishes, a topless burger and changing daily specials that often include soup of the day, risotto, and moussaka.

The Fat Frog places emphasis on healthy eating with fresh ingredients and the menu is fully vegetarian. Curries are served with tempeh while burgers are available with veggie patties.

There's always a dessert option for vegans too, like black rice pudding, lemon sundae, or sticky toffee pudding. Coconut ice-cream is permanently on hand so dairy-free diners with a sweet tooth never have to go without.

Backstory

The Fat Frog first opened to customers in 2016, located in a quiet corner of 99 East Golf Club. Diners benefit from peaceful views over the garden, with local wildlife like hornbills frequently visiting nearby fruit trees.

The restaurant gained popularity for its health-focused menu with options catering to a range of dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free.

While the restaurant itself is only open for lunch and dinner, the trendy garden-clad bar and dessert menu are open all day. Management's eye for creativity can be spotted in the clever drinking glasses, made from recycled Corona and Absolut Vodka bottles.

The Fat Frog features a wine room for those serious about indulging in a drop, as well as a small boutique selling locally made clothing, homewares, golf products, and more.
