Backstory
Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 natural islands, but 2 additional islands, numbered "100" and "101" were constructed by the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) as wave breakers to protect the main island from tsunamis.
The 101st island was leased by Naam Adventure and developed as a hub for leisure, watersports, and events. Construction activities focused on sustainability building around existing trees and using natural and local products wherever possible.
Paradise 101 officially opened to the public in late 2015.
