Tuba Beach Resort: Review

Wake up to the warm scent of salty air and watch a tranquil sunrise over the glistening sea dotted with untouched islands that rival Thailand's Koh Phi Phi. The exquisite sea views are best admired from your balcony with a cup of hot coffee in hand, or while walking along Tuba Beach Resort's private stretch of sand.

After a day exploring Tuba Island's 500-million-year-old rock formations, caves, beaches, and more, head back to the hotel for a relaxing swim in the beachfront pool. Take a fishing excursion with a local fisherman and bring your catch back to the hotel for restaurant staff to cook in local herbs and spices for your evening meal.

If you're looking to unplug from the external world and get back to nature, with a touch of modern comfort, of course, this is the place for you.

Insider Tips For Tuba Beach Resort

  • The best way to reach Tuba Beach Resort from the main jetty is by hiring a motorbike. Taxis may or may not be available and probably will speak very little English.
  • Activities like island hopping tours and fishing excursions can be organized through reception. Your catch can be taken to the restaurant and prepared for your next meal.
  • Be aware there is no lifeguard on duty at the pool area.
  • Pay attention to etiquette in the pool area - for example, don't dive into the pool, don't swim during bad weather, and don't bring food or drink in the pool area.

Scorecard

Best Parts:
  • Authentic island-life. Watch local villagers and fisherman go about their day.
  • Quiet and secluded location brings a serene atmosphere.
  • Exquisite views over the Strait of Malacca.
  • Authentic local food. Especially if you enjoy seafood.
  • Organised activities like fishing excursions.
  • Swimming pool with ocean views.
Could Be Better:
  • Small bathrooms in guest rooms.
  • Basic facilities compared to western-style resorts.
  • Low English-levels of some staff-members.
